1.0.1.2 shipped on 23 October 2026, nine days after the 1.0.1 update. It is a hotfix, not a content drop. Jagex also states that dedicated servers must restart before the hotfix takes effect.

What 1.0.1 left open

The 15 October known-issues post split its list into shipping-soon and later. The controller-only Corrupted Save popup block was in the first group, with repeated accept presses or a controller reconnect as the workaround. Ranged special attacks crashing dedicated servers were also listed there.

The later list is the one that explains several 1.0.1.2 lines. It included the Air Magic Staff fourth hit, the Runecrafting Essence reset, controller stack splitting, Console world joins and Scorned Wilderness skips. Two items on that list matter beyond a single fight: Mucksplosion not matching its 3x3 preview radius, and inventory not persisting when switching worlds.

What the 1.0.1 update added

1.0.1 was the content update underneath the hotfix. It added the Jump Attack behind the Death From Above skill perk, which plunges you onto targets below and scales with the equipped weapon. Ranged builds got Ammo Recovery and its Greater version, plus subclass special attacks: Rapid Fire for the shortbow, Power Shot for the longbow and Heavy Bolt for the crossbow. The Low Blow perk applies Hamstrung to leg hits, with Tiny and Colossal enemies immune.

Saves and the catch-up mechanic

1.0.1 targeted disappearing world saves and added a catch-up path for corrupted character saves. An affected character returns with aggregated stats and Tier 4 gear rather than starting over. Jagex says the affected group is very small, and that it is still collecting data on other save cases.

If your world is gone, open a ticket before deleting anything, and check the world save page for the recovery status.

Why dedicated servers need a restart

Dedicated servers run their own build. A hotfix only reaches them when the host restarts the process, which is why a self-hosted world can behave differently from a client on the same day. Restart after the Steam client updates, then confirm the version on the server console.

Weapon and skill detail is on weapons and skills, and the raid order is on quests.
