The main questline has one job: push you from one region to the next.

It ends inside the 1.0 raid, Scorned Wilderness, where you face the final boss Kuldra.

The raid runs on elemental attunement. Short version: kill three same-element enemies in a row, fill the attunement bar, feed it to an Anima pylon, and a door opens.

The final element puzzle answers to Air → Water → Earth → Fire.

What main and side quests do

  • Main questline: the old mage intro, region progression, the 1.0 quest Regicide, then the Scorned Wilderness raid and Kuldra.
  • Side quests: recipes, gear, decorations and materials. Confirmed names include Doric’s Quest, Cook’s Assistant, Animal Magnetism, A Room with a Garou, Wanted, Withering Heights, Letters for the Dead, Things That Go Boom In The Night, Mirror Mirror and What Remains is Written.
  • Repeatable content: Spectral Platforming, Buried Treasures and Letters for the Dead, all good for materials and decorations.

Jagex has not published a quest total, so this page does not claim “there are N quests”.

The one mechanic that matters most

This is where most runs stall.

  1. Some enemies in the raid carry an element icon next to their name.
  2. Killing them fills your attunement bar.
  3. Kill three of the same element in a row to fill it. Only then do you gain that element.
  4. Spend the attunement on the matching Anima pylon to open a door or a chest room.

Some sections are timed. You get 30 seconds to attune and cross the gap.

Clearing enemies ahead of time and saving Wind Step runes is how you save yourself the retries.

Stage-by-stage flow

StageWhat you doWatch out for
GhornfellClear mobs, take the water attunement, carry the Anima orb to the pylonFirst taste of attunement; slow paced
FellhollowTwo pylons (Air and Fire), climb under a timerContinuous traversal; respect the 30-second window
Dowdun ReachValves, platform timing, three-pylon puzzleValves start traps and platforms; mind your footing
Final sectionCharge three pylons, then solve the element orderA wrong order means starting over

The checkpoints are the best part of the design. Teleporters back to Commander Zilyana appear inside the raid and act as save points.

You can return to town, clear your bags and reorganise, then continue without replaying earlier sections.

Solving the last puzzle

The stone tablet reads “breathe, weep, bury, burn”. The mapping is:

  1. Air for breathe, the white node.
  2. Water for weep.
  3. Earth for bury.
  4. Fire for burn.

Link the four nodes in that order and the gate opens.

What you get for finishing

  • Killing Kuldra always drops the Dragon Kiteshield plus a cape you can wear.
  • Dragon series armour, including the Dragon Scimitar and Dragon Crossbow, comes from repeat clears of the Scorned Wilderness, and only when you succeed.
  • The raid also holds Runite and Luminite veins, exclusive chests and materials.

Limits

  • Exact boss health and damage values inside the raid are not published.
  • This walkthrough is based on 1.0 playthroughs. Later patches may tune the mechanics.
  • The final boss fight itself belongs on its own page. Gear prep is covered under weapons and armour.
